First blog post

Its turning out to be a wonderful week and I just had a fantastic day. So before I change my mind about doing something else, I am writing my first blog.
So first things first. 15th October. My sister's birthday. Many many happy returns of the day to her on her b'day. Hope she has many more memorable birthdays in her life.
She has her exams, so she was kinda busy. I'll take a party from her in November.

Italian

I am learning Italian as a foreign language on Duolingo. One of the best places to learn a language, better than Memrise anyway. I'm yet to start the BBC courses which are supposedly good.
Duolingo says I'm 54% fluent in Italian, which sounds really cool. Maybe it is. I can form sentences which are used daily. In about 15 days or so, I will finish the Duolingo course. Then begins
the BBC ones. Duolingo incidentally erased my 23 day streak, which is quite frustrating. I now start from a 1 day streak. Not that it matters. How much you speak, listen or read the language does matter.
I listen to Italian radio, so I have enough listening practice. Learning a new language is actually one of the few things which excites me in my monotonous day.

Arsenal
So we are finished with the Interlull, Premier League football resumes this weekend with Arsenal travelling to Watford. All players are in good form, with no injuries from this international break.
Alexis, Ox, Walcott, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud, Ramsey n co were all on the score sheet for their respective countries. So we are in good shape, and I expect a good game at Vicarage road.
Not an open, end to end game. Watford will be happy to sit back and counter. Arsenal are in good shape going into this one. There was an AGM today, but I didn't get enough time to go through it.
Not expecting much from it though.

Dutch skunk

RvP. The player who is lovingly nicknamed by Gooners around the world as "the Dutch Skunk", "Judas" and many other NSFWish names. Never have I been so happy to see an ex-Arsenal player fall from
grace this bad. Screwed over by SAF, David Moyes, LvG, Man United, the Oranje, and Fenerbahce, our ex captain is not happy with collecting 250k pounds per week without kicking a ball. Way to go, man.
He could have been an Arsenal legend, have had a testimonial, won trophies, had more respect and support. But to hell with that. Let him rot away. Its actually quite hilarious. The man who scored one
of the goals of the year in WC2014 scored an own goal in spectacular fashion to end his nation's any lingering hope of making it to France. I thoroughly enjoyed that goal, and
the Czechs certainly did.

Keyboard
Today I ad one of the best days ever in front of the instrument. To give you some context, I am learning keyboard for the past 6 weeks. The songs which I play now are extremely easy for a pro,
but tough for a learner. This particular song, "One more night" by Phil Collins was really getting to me. The notes were okay, but the chords were not. There was one piece where you play
C, F, and G chords along with notes in quick succession. I had been practising for 3 days and couldn't get a hang of it. But not today. Today I left my instructor stunned! More than that
I stunned myself! With perfect synchronization, chords and the 16 beat ballad on the alto saxophone voice with a higher tempo, I played the whole song without a single mistake multiple times.
This can only motivate me to work harder. Way to go for me, I guess.

New phone
This week, I got my new phone. Moto X play 32GB. Sleek, slim, heavy and wonderful are some of the words I have for describing it. I spent a lot of time getting to know the phone itself, still
don't know how to click those high exposure, high focus pics that I see people drooling over on Facebook and more lately, Instagram. As I spend more time, I will learn more. I have not started
using it yet, since I didn't have time to go to the store to cut the sim. I hope to do it over the weekend and get started on the new phone. Ciao Moto! Arrivederci HTC!

So that is it. I'm off to do Italian, eat some dinner and read Harry Potter.

Movie review: English Vinglish

I might be 6 years late, but here is my review of this Bollywood movie, starring Sridevi. Directed by Gauri Shinde, this film tackles some This film is freakin' awesome! I can't believe I hadn't watched this movie before. And if you haven't watched it, I suggest you clear out your calendar for tomorrow and grab some popcorn. This is mostly a serious movie, but the lighter moments are well placed, and make great viewing. The plot, the dialogues, the screenplay, everything is perfect. This movie is worth paying big bucks to watch on the big screen, unlike me, who watched it 6 years late on a 14 inch touchscreen. Sridevi is absolutely mesmerizing. Her acting in this movie is one of the best acting performances I have ever seen. When you watch her, her struggles become yours. You feel her happiness and sadness. You want her to do well. You want her to show the world, how much she can accomplish. Anything more I say here will be spoilers for the few people w

Going home, Pune trip and more

Hola! Long time since I wrote anything, and here I am writing two posts. With so much happening, I have barely had time to breathe, least of all write a blog. Even today I just found time, because I am in a train, bound towards Kalyan, taking me away from Hyderabad for a deserved break from the mundane.                 I had to make an extremely difficult choice, one that I did not want to nor that agrees with my nature. But facing the truth is better than being under a delusion, only to be disappointed at the end. I cannot give keyboard exam this time. L (Sobbing inside) I am just too underprepared, and frankly, I have heavier things on my plate. The teacher thought 3 months would be enough, even I felt so. But it wasn’t meant to be. The exam comes too early for me, and I, despite wanting to, cannot practice and perfect the syllabus on time to pass the exam. Accepting this is really painful for me, especially when I don’t like giving up. What other choice do I h

New year resolutions

Belated happy new year! It is the time of the year where people set goals and targets for the year. Most fall short by the first or second month. Even I do. But my last year's resolutions were actually so good, I accomplished what I set out for: learn 2 foreign languages, Italian and French. At a basic level, but yeah, enough to survive. And some other goals too, which I did achieve satisfactorily. So what next? I have some resolutions this year too! Let me share some: Get better at piano This is compulsory. No two ways about this. For the past few months, I have become a little distant from the piano. But not anymore. I already started learning a song, one that is usually on my lips! The joy I derive from playing the piano, even if for little time, is very immense. And I already feel better. There is something magical about learning music, and at any cost, I do not want to disconnect from it. Do I have a plan? Umm… no. I have a new piano on my mind, but that depen
