End of the season, new learnings

Hello all, a week has passed by with blistering speed and I just got time to write. As I start writing, I can smell the aroma of roasted coffee beans. Ahhhhhhhh. Feels so good to smell that fragrance after a long time. Yesterday was the UEFA Champions League final, which I did get to watch despite shitty internet. (Thank you roomie for eating up all the usage and giving us bad speed K ) Real began well, put Atletico under some early pressure. They got the early goal as well, Ramos bundling the ball from Bale’s flicked header. I thought Real got their tactics spot on in the first half. They denied Atletico space, cut out the passing lanes and forced full backs to cut inside, which rendered them useless in my opinion. Atletico had some shots on target, but nothing that worried Keylor Navas much. The second half was where Real took their foot off the pedal and Atleti started to take control of the game. Zidane played his cards right: Atletico can’t do much with the ball. They aren’t

End of season and silly stuff

Hello there, I am back to annoy you with quirks from my life. It hasn't been good going, I barely made it through the weekend. But hey here I am. This weekend marked the final week of premier league football. Arsenal were looking to end their campaign on a high, with second place in sight. Spuds needed to lose for that to happen, and boy did they implode in spectacular fashion. They just had to draw against a relegated team, and managed to lose 5-1 to 10 men Newcastle. And Arsenal won 4-0 to finish second and above spurs. The banter was awesome. To be so many points behind them and to finish ahead is quite hilarious. But you have to hand it to Pochettino, who got a title challenge from that squad. Something Arsene Wenger was unable to do with a far superior squad in my opinion. Well, the past is the past and nothing can change the fact that the title was up for grabs and we bottled it. Some players have not stepped up, and do not deserve any more trust from the manager. On

the dilemma of the captain

The dilemma of the captain Once there was a captain of a ship. The ship was new and the captain was young. Time passed and the ship wore out, got repaired and became sturdier. Similarly the captain grew wiser with age. Also he knew the ship in and out, and was confident in the abilities of the ship. The ship and the captain grew a very tight bond, envied by many captains.                 The ship travelled many lands, saw many things and the captain experienced some wonderful things in his life. The ship wasn’t exactly a treat to the eyes, but was sturdy enough to take the rough seas. The captain also was one of a kind. He liked to take risks. He did unexpected things at unexpected times, yielding unexpected results. Mostly results were good, the rest were lessons in sailing. He learned from his lessons and now took calculated risks.                 This captain kept most of his experiences to himself. He liked it this way. It meant simplicity for him. One day, he decided

IPL, keyboard and other stuff

Hello once again. It has been a while since I have written something, so here I go.                 I actually forgot about this. I went to an IPL game on the 26 th of April, 2016 to watch Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rising Pune Giants. It was barely a mid-table clash. Both teams were (are) floundering in the bottom half of the league standings. So I just went for the stadium experience. We had rain postpone the start of the game by an hour, and when it did start, the action was not quite high octane. SRH lost wickets at regular intervals and Pune weren’t really breaking a sweat. The hardcore followers of cricket among my colleagues were well disappointed. And Pune were on course to win the game in respectable time when the rain gods decide they had had enough. They might have felt,” What a bunch of crap! Let us stop this already.” So the result was decided by D/L method and Pune were the victors on the day. Not worth the money we paid for the game, was my takeaway from the
